In his 50's, Joel is a self taught artist, born and residing in Montreal, Canada.
He commenced painting and exhibiting on a full time basis, fifteen years ago.
"Through my exploration of color, I became involved in textile and surface design, which led to many of my patterns being printed and sold internationally. Over the years I have sold hundreds of paintings to collectors as well as over six hundred original paintings to Holiday Inn Hotels and Four Point Sheraton Hotels.
With the advent of the Internet, Joel has expanded his art sales from Iceland to Australia.
"Painting for me is expressing nothing more than the paint I am using, I try not to think of what I am painting and rather let the paint and colors tell their own story. A good painting for me is one that is different from the last one I did and hopefully something that does not resemble an earlier one. Giving a title to a work is more difficult than doing them for me. I like a name that is unique for the work that I will remember ".
