Lipcrack are looking for a sound technician. Obviously it’s going to be helpful if you like the band’s music but more than that, you enjoy bringing sounds that jump out at you, crossfade, distort along with all other range of technical abilities that leave the crowd wishing they’d played another song before finishing the performance/gig.
If you have your own rig that’s great, if you prefer to hire and utilize on the day fine but you need to be there from the moment set up starts and leave when it’s time to. If an amp happens to blow you need to be prepared. Same goes for plugs and cords.
Education in regards to this is going to be a big plus due to the range of equipment used by the band which includes computers, amps, guitars and drums if you can handle a lighting board at the same time great.
If you’d like to apply for this position and can briefly inform us why your the best candidate for the position feel welcome to. You might have a junior that can fill in on those days you can’t make it to the show, but you will be required to send someone on those gone missing days. Sound Engineering schools are also welcome to put forward suitable suggestions.
Please be aware the biggest rig doesn’t necessarily fill the position, suitability with the equipment used in the performance and its ability to drive the sound is a significant point of consideration. We are not an orchestra we are a four to five piece band. At times we are a one person unit and a complex computer which requires a backing sound system including audio player.
