The Internet Service Provider that was being utilized went through an upgrade which changed it from an ADSL network to a National Broadband network and didn’t actually work with the infrastructure network in the area so a rapid change to a new service provider took place. They will also be upgrading but I gather it will occur when Telstra does any planned upgrades to its infrastructure which services the area. So around the day the Blog update was due, the Internet was down and has been for the last 5 days. But all systems are go again and here we are.

What’s News in Terms of Track Development?

On That Bus was finished according to the time schedule (end of March) and Too Big is well underway with the main amplifications and tunings for the track finished yesterday. That sets the overall sound for the track and I’ve included a little insert for those that would like a sneak preview. While I thought it was going to be quite a rocky track it’s started out very bluesy. I can’t tell you how it will finish but the plan for this one is to keep it fairly constant in terms of overall sound.

General Developments?

Talk about how many brick walls you can hit in a row. Still having the same problems in terms of mail outs and finding a third party service. There’s plenty of them but when you start looking into requirements and the various changes in policies and how some of them are operating, I’m just going to say it’s a slow process. Here’s an example of how frustrating it is. Lipcrack send out 1 email approximately a year to the mails on our mailing lists. Sure we have a few lists that have been mailed over the years, but last week while the Internet was down, I received 300 odd spam mail when I got back online (that’s in approximately 5 days) and is fairly regular. As soon as we receive an unsubscribe notification they are removed from those lists and not mailed again, about 5 a week.

Do you think the current web site host does anything about those 60 spam emails I receive a day? No. But my mail outs get stopped when I receive something like 5 unsubscribe mails from a major list mail out. I’m finding that situation way to bias and way too convenient and very unworkable generally.

If you’re wondering why I blow a lot of things off, that gives you a good idea. Sure there are umpteen other ways to utilize the web in effective promotions but its the fact that we are operating as ethically as possible, while being dragged down by the overall mechanics of how others are operating. And once again, there’s major companies trying to dictate how everyone of the Internet runs their site operations. No one can do that in the general working community, everyone has to abide by general guidelines.

If I provided a few examples of those companies that provide mail out capabilities and those terms, a lot of them are actually free for the amount Lipcrack mail, but the other stipulations attached with them, e.g. Include a web link of their business, like me, you probably just be thinking, Why can’t she use her regular mail address? and advertise her own business, she’s removing those emails that no longer want to receive mail.

I’ve gone on about it so many times, it’s fair to say, you just get fed up with it. But track development continues while options are considered.

The Good News!

During that Internet down time, I did a systems check on the mail out computer and I can tell you it has that many programs that work with the over all promotions capabilities of the web installed on it, personally I think people would be surprised, from checking capabilities to back end search engine functioning on those more than 20 odd engines that work out in the marketplace.

Did I find some bugs?, did I find some faulting indexes on a check disc?, I found about 3 days of software repairs that once completed, had it all running faultlessly with no system errors. Big fact, the computer still functions with all those backend errors, it’s not until you really get involved with system maintenance and back end operations that you are even aware they exist. An interesting point about computers is that when one memory block occurs which disrupts functioning, they move to utilize a different memory block on the computer, it’s why memory is such a “Big Thing”, when it comes to buying a computer.

So there you have it, Marches update with April sometime later this month. Wondering if generally people are experiencing a different 2019 and all it has in store, I know I’ve certainly had a few of those, never felt like this before moments and all I can say is hoping for some improvements as the year unfolds.

Have a Great Day wherever you are, what ever you are doing and stay tuned for more news later this month.

Lipcrack

So what happened to March you might be asking as far as updates go?
