A Day In The Life

Posted on April 12, 2016April 12, 2016 By Alena

Can you believe it ? an early update. Now I’m fairly sure people know that I use this blog to focus on band news. I only mention it because I have different matters going on in a range of sites around the web. I have to record more than my tracks because it’s incredible the amount of misinformation that can go down in other people’s records.

With that said though I’m going to briefly mention that months and months after request and repeat request went through to the hospitals involved, due to a recent “unable to move/vomiting” experience that “conveniently” saw me end up in a Psych Ward  with a fairly shockingly inappropriate diagnosis made, I finally had “some” of the records made available which clearly indicate by pathology a passing infection/affliction of some kind. I am TOTALLY UNIMPRESSED with what occurred and am moving to have the records at Flinders removed along with a few more questions asked. Good news – well all my vital fluids were in good ranges so that’s all I need to say in this Blog as far as I’m concerned.

Track news, there’s a lot of people out there on Lipcrack lists. They have been updated regarding the release. So far we’ve had a very positive response to the track and lots of Web Heads (a passing term) turn out for the experience. Thank You, All of You.

While that was occurring I was actually locked out of the Blog believe it or not which is caused by another competing issue. For some reason we can’t easily update our Yahoo sign ups. At the same time, there’s a robot script that’s signing up Yahoo subscribers daily unauthenticated. And another script created the “lockout” issue which was in fact meant to be used to notify Blog subscribers. Sound Crazy huh?  What it means is not all subscribers were notified of the track release, although some were because the database was downloaded and mailed direclty. That saying goes without saying “You’ve got to have Backup”.

Outcome – the best way to stay and keep in contact with Lipcrack is by the email on the front of the site preferably with “Subscribe” in the header or some other easy to recognize title.

Where things are at now, it’s time to clean the lists of recent “unsubscribes” not many but there’s a lot of lists and each one get’s done separately. Then it’s time to move onto the new contact lists. There’s a lot of those. Lipcrack invest in expanding our reach. If “the money rolled right in”, I’d be hiring staff right now. Fact is I’ve recorded about 20 seconds of a new track and that’s it. The mail out process requires technical and statistical ability.  All that data get’s recorded as well. Sound like a Recording Factory ? Well who know’s maybe one day it will be, we aren’t on a label yet. Lipcrack also need to get back to all those organizations (around 20) that need money or a disc to promote us.

There’s nothing else to mention, mentally my head is telling me, “Your ready to get back to developing those new tracks”,  realistically though my mind is saying “there’s something missing from this picture”.

With that I’ll finish up with a new update.
