A Day In The Life

Posted on July 26, 2016July 28, 2016 By Alena

Finally a break in the storm, which is all it’s been this winter, if it hasn’t been wind and rain it’s been hail or ice. The damage has been wide spread so expect some damage news. Yes I am Damaged…..Damaged by it all.

When you are damaged, it’s time out for assessment and planning. How did I get into this mess? How am I going to get out of this mess? Is it really as messy as it seems?

Where we left things last month, it was time to shift mail outs back to the company where we host the site. I decided it would be best to wait till the old security certificate expired and a new one was installed before commencing anything. That was a month ago.

In that time, I’ve been off unemployment benefit due to not signing a Work for the Dole contract. That obviously is a separate matter in relation to the “Greater Scheme of Things” or other peoples things I should say. I did actually plan to start the new EP. That didn’t happen but some general house maintenance that’s been way over due has been commence and is going okay. Obviously I am not a master builder or re builder for that matter but have a few spare months to do what I can.

I am not even going to bother going into some of the types of hassles that came up with tradies other than to say, you can expect delays, you can expect a variety of quality and you can expect nothing at all. Which in one reason I’m still so happy with how Lipcracks first two EP’s turned out. If we do anything it’s only going to be good quality.

That said, I also had time to look into the Hospital situation that I found myself in (mentioned briefly earlier) which while grateful that there was someone there to look over me also recognized that things aren’t always as they seem. Which is why I made phone calls. As it is I was after a change in the document outcome which seemed inappropriate given why I entered and where I ended up. All I can say is at the moment that has also hit a brick wall with the first hospital “Declining to Comment” on paperwork that was checked and sent back to them for further clarification. Obviously I do not want to waste month after month which is how it ends up but it’s already been about a year. That’s how difficult they make it. But I will be spending more time on the matter because it’s just a little too convenient for people too put information down on paper have it stored as records yet not be accountable for it.

So that’s two things I’d rather not even have to be mentioning. And now for the third. When the SSL certificate was installed, I did plan to do it myself. It was purchased, cancelled repurchased and all kinds of strange happenings. Once again, “hmmmm some things up!” was the general conclusion. All I’m going to say on that is initial checks on the server bought to my attention that there appeared to be two certificates running previously.
Currently due to a “Damaged” cable (a new one is on the way) documents secured on the matter are inaccessible on a external device. It’s going to take about two weeks
before I can follow up on that. There is a certificate that appears to check out, as weird as it sounds I think there’s two.

Now if you’d like to know where things currently sit. I’ve got about a months worth of work around the back end of the house that’s under way to complete. I have the materials for that so that’s what’s going on. The plan was always just a light make over and clean up which required walls being washed down some sanding and painting. I could go on about it because I’ve learnt quite a bit from the experience however it’s not appropriate for Lipcrack news. It was a general hand for my parents who needed it and seem okay with how it’s gone so far.

What is Lipcrack News! Well after those two months as it stands, I really believe that the EP will be started or should I say got back too . I’ll also be refocusing on more music industry related business and mail outs. That is the plan. Obviously there’s gear going on in the background that you’d prefer wasn’t, it all requires a huge amount of work which is why bands are on labels, they get to focus on the music side of things only.

I have nothing more to add the damage plan has taken it’s toll and so has the weather. I seem to come out of it a little more damaged each time maybe one day people will
experience that in the music, maybe they already have.

Regardless have a great month enjoy the latest update and see you all in a month.
