A Day In The Life

Posted on November 30, 2015 By Alena

Flluffy DuckSo surprise surprise the last day of the month for an update!

Who knew that stranger things could happen. Obviously the critics will think “she’s
trying to hide something for us” while those who give us credit will think “she’s
probably mixing it up a bit for us” which lets face it Lipcrack have been known to do.

Last day of the month and I should be reporting fantastic news e.g. Mail out’s have
continued to go well, site stats are kicking up a storm etc. etc. Currently though it’s
not like that and while I don’t like to go back in history reporting on every incidence
of foul play that goes on almost on a daily basis these days, I’m going to touch base
with a few of those things that have gone on which should be mentioned.

First up the Twitter response when the account was locked down :

“Twitter has automated systems that find and remove automated spam accounts in bulk.
Unfortunately, it looks like your account got caught up in one of these spam groups by
mistake. Your account is now unlocked, sorry for the inconvenience”.

Then after some down time mailing through our “highly regulated and very securely
checked mail system” it was brought to my attention that “something was up”.

Mailouts have actually been on hold for over a month now and was bought about by
1. Poor service performance at OPTUS which led to a new IP for the computer to be linked to. There’s been issues with that which are still outstanding but being attended to as
each matter that came to light is resolved.

2. When mail out’s did commence via our mail program it came to our attention that mail
tests which confirm everything is operational could not be completed. That suggested
that details needed to be updated but further checks determined that changes had
occurred at the hosting company of the web site.

Regarding that a question and answer process has been in place for a few weeks now (yes a little longer than we’d like) but getting to the bottom of what has gone on is
crucial.

So far it’s been determined that Domain Name Servers were changed to point to different
servers in charge of different functions which are all apart of the hosting of the site
including mail and site statistics. The fact that something had occurred there became
evident when site stats showed very irregular behavior which was what started the
questioning process with them.

I’m going to say this I’ve had a number of opinions on matters in relation to hosting
with the current hosting company since we commenced with them. I wouldn’t be surprised
if someone said “When hasn’t she had one?”, particularly because they’re quite critical
opinions. One thing I don’t profess to be is perfect. But I do know when I consider some
thing to be as strange as to be suspicious. However to cut what is a long update short
because I could go on about it I’m going to relay the following information.

Discussions have been good in terms of determining what is going on at the hosting
company. Their staff have been in discussion with their “Administration” which
personally to me seem to have another agenda above and beyond hosting accounts which I have maintained seems to be the case with web site hosting on line generally. I’ve
actually been very pleased with the information that has come to light in relation to
Cpanel which generally is the “Control Panel” that most hosting companies in the United
States use. While the hosting companies wouldn’t admit this, they’re in a relationship
with that business where they have to rely on the updates that come through in relation
to it’s functionality because fact is you cannot run a hosting company without some kind
of platform for end users to host web sites.

That obviously doesn’t really give people a good idea of what’s going on. I’m going to
say this, I am still in the process of talking through this matter. However to give you
an idea of how serious it is and something that only came to my attention a few days ago
in the process of questioning which I haven’t as yet even brought to the hosting
companies attention although I can tell you this, “someone in that company is
responsible for it, and that someone has been caught in an act which as yet hasn’t been
confirmed or released to that company other than it’s been documented from this end”.
It’s also a very different issue to those being discussed however seems to provide
further evidence that supports some of my conclusions in the matter.

I have attached an image of the matter and will say this, “the Security Certificate I
bought for the site was purchased five months ago when the static IP was purchased. It
was not purchased 10 day’s ago and suggests some very deceptive conduct in relation to
that hosting companies practices”. If they’re going to suggest to me when I do bring
that final piece of documentation to their attention that “Oh it seems to be an error in
our accounting system we were not aware of”, well currently I can’t tell you how
unpleasant my initial response would be in terms of what I’m thinking.

So realistically you’d think that would be enough of the Bad News and time for some Good
News. I did have some but that seems to have been put on hold due to another group of
businesses that I have also grown to disrespect in terms of being credibly likeable or
reliable. I will have more news on that next month.

All I can say at the moment is the plan to start the new EP in 2016 is still the plan.
As difficult as I know it’s going to be but at the same time as “Outrageously humorous”
as I know it will be.

Thank you for all the new sign up’s to the Blog although I’m sure 90% of them are some
kind of fake “hijack” battalion.

I’ll have more news in December which I know will be release before the last day of the
month. Like I said, I just wanted to do something different.
