A Day In The Life

Posted on December 7, 2016December 7, 2016 By Alena

Last month of the year and I suspect people are expecting good cheer….given the month I’ve had it’s hardly likely but I pulled through today on a major upset and interruption.

There’s gear going on in the back ground in terms of taking all matters I have in regards to not receiving welfare due to not signing a “Work for the Dole” program. I possibly haven’t made it clear that’s one of the reasons why I’m not getting unemployment benefit. Thing is when Job Networks get nasty, I do have certain rights which I’m pursuing once again as difficult as all of those parties involved are making it.

That’s the update on that, no point going on about it other than letting people know it’s going on in the background.

Following that well major interruption that surprised even me. Last week the new computer system crashed about three weeks before the warrantee expires. Fancy That!

So potentially all work that had been completed was corrupted by some unknown factor. As it was I had just saved the files I’d be working on to a USB to check on the old machine (But I’d forgotten that had occurred). I’d just completed reworking the initial part of the track that was commenced some time ago and a new section.

Anyway the computer ended up having to be completely reformatted and all recording programs reinstalled. That has taken the last week to complete. Odd thing in the process the initial reformat didn’t work and an image map stored on the computer was restored instead. What was odd is that to a great extent I was presented with a whole new range of system services so it appeared to be a new operating platform.

It’s running with no activation problems and I will say personally I’ve set it up so it’s currently functioning better than it was running previously in terms of function access and moving between software recording platforms. It’s almost hard to believe but it’s true. What I can’t believe is the fact that I’ve had this computer almost a year now and still haven’t produced one track. My energies have been everywhere which is just the way it is around here.

I am remaining focused with the intention of getting this EP done, hopefully in the next six months. That’s how long it will take at least I’m sure of it. Once that’s done I will consider all other options in terms of work, study and Government programs. Although I should be looking for venture capitalists. I’ll probably be doing that as well. What I should be looking for is new employee’s. As you can possibly imagine. Mail is ready to start running on the old system so that’s good news too.

Fortunately and by odd chance really, the track was saved to USB to check on the old machine, something I only recalled when using it to transfer software to the new machine. Found the files looking at me and just finished checking them today. They’re okay! If they hadn’t been I would have needed to commence the track from start, that’s how serious it was and I can tell you that would have been a personal tragedy.

So that’s the update coming into the holiday’s and Christmas time. Lipcrack wish all of you the best of the Festive Season and this update is a reminder to call all your loved ones. Happy Christmas, Happy New Year and see you all then.

I’m still working on the tracks and I’m going to make sure they’re as good as they can be.
