A Day In The Life

Posted on December 13, 2017December 13, 2017 By Alena

It’s the end of the year wrap up with Lipcrack and what a year it’s been! slightly similar to every other year in terms of difficulties we’ve faced but still as eventful and full of surprises as those past.

So What’s Left To Tell of 2017?

Despite the fact that most are getting ready for Christmas Celebrations and a wind down to the year, for Lipcrack, this happens to be one of the most intensive work periods in terms of completing the new EP for 2018.

As per the schedule, the fifth track was completed a week into December taking into account other work commitments which included the Administration Appeal meeting in relation to cancellation/suspension of unemployment payments early this year. That decision is still to be determined in terms of paperwork. I don’t like to include it in updates but as it put production out for a week it’s quite relevant. Realistically how it bears on everyday events is important too, however as I’ve mentioned previously it’s quite a sore point in terms of everyday livelihoods and work related efforts.

That said the preproduction on the last track has been finalized and production on the last track, Sell Out commences tomorrow. Fortunately, today was a good time to let people know what’s been going on and what is taking place in terms of how Lipcrack will be finishing the year and let’s face it….it’s going to be with some mighty big track noise.

If you haven’t had an opportunity to check things out via our YouTube updates, here’s the link for the tracks to date….

Early Tasks in 2018.

Given that the track is completed to plan which will run into early January here’s a brief rundown of tasks that are on the to-do list prior to job hunting commencing once again.

1. The store shop will be updated with the latest working platform and rebuilt. All code issues should be resolved at that time.

2. Correspondence between companies that keep Lipcrack informed in relation to site visitors and their general experiences with the site when they visit. e.g. Timeout delays, page access, browser functionality those types of things. We also have to make sure that it get’s done correctly it’s not always as simple as point and click and occasionally we notice some oddities which need further information.

3. There are plans to add job vacancies that are available at Lipcrack in terms of site operations, management and artist representation among many things. Keep your eye’s out there might be something that interests you.

4. Promotional updates will recommence where we left off but a new track release will be some time off. For the time being it wasn’t practical to keep it running while developing the new EP. That isn’t the intention for any other developments that might occur, it was suitable in relation to current tasks that needed attention.

5. Job Hunting
6. Business network meetings
7. Making final checks into any further education studies that are being considered.
8. Working away in spare time at expanding Lipcracks online presence, which can be done quite considerably.
9. Updating YouTube main page.

What’s Left To Say?

We at Lipcrack can only hope that you all had a wonderful 2017. We’d like you all to stay in your best spirits to bring in 2018, while I don’t have my one and true love camera functioning I’ve been fortunate enough to be provided with a fill-in which could see some new updates being made available for news in 2018. That’s not guaranteed but is likely. The new EP, “Do we have a name for it yet?”, is getting closer to completion and will be requiring a title. Lipcrack are currently very close to breathing a very big sigh of relief and hope you all recognize these things do not come easy in a country which is more international music than local. It’s a fact and it’s an important consideration in terms of the industry as it stands.

Once again for those of you who have joined us and share the times, it’s been very appreciated, I can only say Lipcrack have worked very hard on this new EP to keep you with us in terms of band and scene development.

Have a great month, what’s left of it, have a great Christmas and have a safe and wonderful New Years Eve, we look forward to sharing 2018 with you All.
