A Day In The Life

Posted on April 24, 2023 By Alena

This month has seen Lipcrack involved in a range of interesting tasks.

The one that took the most amount of time included an overview of a software product that does an analysis of the SSD drive to suggest a multitude of changes that can be made to the over all computer operating system for better functionality. I do actually have a range of products on the system already which perform similar tasks (almost instantaneously) but somehow ended up testing this one which took close to a week to overview. The reason I bothered was because I was impressed with what it could do when I started the process. And surprisingly it’s an Australian product (I don’t know of too many Australian software producers) and is now included in my desktop apps. There is a free version and a paid version like many other products out there and I almost feel guilty not paying for it, but when I do go to the price is considerably higher than software I have purchased which does a similar job. For now it’s one of those things to consider maybe some time in the future. I would share the product details with people however not until they become subscribers.

The other interesting task was once again attempting to access some video footage I took on what at the time was considered Lipcrack’s first overseas tour. I’m not going into all the details, it was taken on a Panasonic video recorder. Most people would be using an iPhone these days. Thing is it was done on tape and when I spent a moment once again attempting the task with a new video to USB converter, it’s at the same stalled scenario due to compatibility matters across a range of matters. Currently I have two options, take it into an organisation that will convert it for me or buy a male to male adaptor cable which could resolve the matter. Notice the word “Could”. I gather there’s a 50:50 likelihood of success. When I have some time to look into it further I’m going with buying the cord and if that fails then most likely the first option.

The main reason I’m still focused on doing it other than a reminder of what an interesting trip it was is putting this video editing software I bought to use. It’s as difficult to operate as music production software can be so its fairly challenging and really gives you something to think about to fill the time. It’s just one of those things I’ve enjoyed doing in my spare time.

And other than that I have also just recently finished cleaning some mailing lists and have them ready for new mail-outs and that’s the plan for the next month. There was once again a highly dubious possible small edit done in last months blog update, it’s occurred a number of times and I’ll go into detail next month with what was found this month when checks were done.

So for now, its a brief update of things that have been occurring in the meantime.

See you all next month.

Lipcrack.
