It’s been a long and busy April despite all the holidays with plenty going on everywhere. Mailout’s have been off and on and will continue to go out in between some new tasks that are being attempted and I say attempted. What am I talking about? A long time ago I started collecting Festival necklaces and I did it for years so I built up quite a collection and then I stopped because I ran out of places to put them. The obvious place would be a shop and that’s what I’ve been considering for so long now its ridiculous. The thing is though renting a shop in Adelaide is not something you want to do lightly, I’ve spoken with a huge range of people and watched others go under to leasing arrangements that didn’t pay. There was the option to put some of them in other shops but I fairly soon worked out I’d probably need insurance for theft and breakages along with the fact that others just don’t want to take on risk of holding someone else’s stock. So after considering the idea further I’ve decided that I’m going to put a range of them online for sale. I’ve recently bought an SD card for the camera because the first step is going to be taking photos that represent the items as they are. My own camera is currently overloaded with images so I’ve had to undertake it as though its a new task needing big gig storage. The majority of them are second hand but I was fairly specific in going for collectors pieces which not only hold their value, increase in value and are very wearable. There is an example of some of the items to be included below and they are all tangle free.
I grew up going to music festivals and party wear was very much the thing to do and still is so if I actually achieve this task which involves a lot of cataloguing it should be a real treat for those looking for a festive item at a reasonable cost. Obviously international postage is going to add to the cost but again, I’m hoping to cost items at prices to fit most budgets. I’m kind of excited by the task because it’s a very educational process and I for one enjoyed learning about the creation of plastics and celluloids which were of course developed to compete with the high cost precious metals and rhinestone jewels. As I’ve researched it’s become evident that all items are irreplaceable because there’s very few people working in these mediums anymore and many were copy writ and patented for their designs. Of course there are new jewelry manufacturers but they can’t reproduce past designer wear without it being called a reproduction. Even I created hand made jewelry pieces in my teens when I worked in stain glass window manufacture and sold items at the markets. Day’s long gone.
So if people are wondering what’s going on in my time out from music creation, while I also have some health matters to attend to that’s about it. Still keeping as busy as possible and still loving music.
Bye for now,
Lipcrack
PS I’ve also uploaded a couple of test video’s to the Instagram site, check link, in terms of finally putting a video editing piece of software purchased a while back to some use. I’m about a third of the way through the manual and have achieved time lapse editing and similar editing tasks but won’t be putting every insert I make up there. This one is quite complex and does sound editing as well but I have been informed that the iphone’s have some very good editors available. I just don’t know what they are at this time. I still prefer the computer.
