Just finished listening to the new mastered EP, which was finished by a pre-set deadline back in December, surprising even me because those Administration Appeal meetings really cut into things and it seems like most things in Adelaide people are cutting into more and more including people but that’s another drama. Yes I’ve still been mutilated, yes my unemployment benefit is still outstanding to be paid and yes most likely they’ll have paperwork now sitting on the back burners like unscrupulous drug manufacturers to say why they don’t have to. But notice, I said the word “mastered”, which in short means sound tested and modified to be audibly pleasing to ears and devices that play tracks.
Wonder why I find the worlds become a rather insidious place? If you don’t know the meaning of that work look it up because it really captures what is going on in one word perfectly.
So there you go! What an introduction to 2018. I can tell you right now it’s absolutely not the way I’d like to start it but if you expect me to sit here and lie about all the gear I’m going through you are in the wrong place. Fact is I’m aware there’s probably not one person in the world who isn’t going through something, so once again I’ll keep my annoyances short and provide you with a taste of what really should be making 2018 a great year if everyone was intent on making everyone else’s year great if it hasn’t already been so.
Lots of Noise and Lots of Fuss! You might have noticed if you’ve been around the Lipcrack Blog for a while that we use to bring the New Year in with some mottos to aim for, making it not only a more enjoyable year but a more thoughtful one too. So despite being in a band and that obviously being an advantageous motto for us, this year seems to be a great year for “Lots of Noise and Lots of Fuss”…. Whatever you are doing…
And I’ll give you an example of how this applies. Recently I went into a Job Network which has been refurbished, how many times?, well I’m not going to bother going into the details, but while in reception, I had to sit under some 20+ odd lights while waiting for an attendant for 45 min’s. I’m still not back on unemployment benefit (and have been requested to gather details), but I thought to myself “that electricity bill in that one area could provide my social welfare and produce at least 2 EP’s in one year”. So if I make some noise about those places and them feeding power companies which aren’t feeding me with taxes which is ultimately what some of that money goes towards, I do it for a reason. So I don’t care how you make some noise or how you make some fuss this year, do it wisely.
In fact if Lipcrack needed an onstage chant from our crowd that’s what it’s going to be “Make some noise and Make some fuss”. Are you ready Lipcrackers? It’s going to be a Great Year.
What’s Been Going On So Far This Month?
Lipcrack haven’t stopped. And we have some fairly surprising news,
1. The web domain has been updated and slightly reconfigured for the new year. Some checks are still being run on that because when you have different processes running on the site they all have to match the computer that the site is run from.
2. We’ve just about finished developing a “mini site” for mobile technology users. There were issues with access to the interior of the site and we are well aware they are active site visitors so rather than develop a whole new site, we are in the process of finalizing their own entrance. It’s not finalized but should be as soon as all code is completed.
3. Just finished Lipcrack’s photo shoot for this year’s updates which we hope you still really enjoy, big fact when I do one, I set out to provide people with memories.
4. The Blog has changed to green, no this isn’t some political statement although I am personally quite green in terms of the environment, it’s just a color change that I wanted to do for now.
Next Few Months Goings On.
The list includes everything not as yet completed from our last update. I have to fit two big task in there which are actually very important and are as a result of the completion of the EP.
1. Picking which track to release next.
2. Getting a music-only version of the tracks which is quite difficult given the process that goes into making the tracks but might be simplified if I look into a couple of matters. Important for live performances.
3. Getting a page on the web ready for the release of the track.
Another fact, recently I started practicing the tracks off the first album again and had that ready to go to live performance but there’s still a couple of small details that need to be finalized in terms of playing live…probably don’t believe it but it’s still the aim. I’ll continue to practice those.
So things are busy here, I’m also going through a process of trying to get social security but I can tell you right now the new policy is being used as a weapon, I’m not going into all of that it’s mentioned a lot in my Twitter account among places.
NEW EP NEWS
Today I started checking out which song to release from the new EP and given that I haven’t listened to it for a month, I noticed a few things about it which I’m going to let people know now.
It actually seems a lot mellower to listen to than the first two it’s also quite funky so still kind of upbeat. I’ll also most likely release two from it, but I can guarantee this, whatever I choose, I’m hoping that you like some of the other tracks on it better because it really is Lipcrack at our best in what we like bringing to the music listening audiences.
WOW – How long is this update? If I was at the Grammy’s you’d all be snoring by now. But there’s still more to go, once again, thanks to all those business organizations from our hosting company to those that provide this incredible space to let you know how things are going and of course just as important our wardrobe which we choose. All those organizations have just been A Class, A Plus all the way and their incredible effort is all part of how we can be with you today on the World Wide Web. In fact this page is not long enough to thank all those incredible people who fill our lives and inspire us.
So Phew – Take A Deep Breath, finally onto the next lot of tasks with 2018 well underway with a lot of Noise and a lot of Fuss….. But Best of All…. What Comes Next with Us…..well, we can dream, can’t we?
