Well finally that time has arrived…I’m sitting here holding my breath as I prepare this update, surely the lack of oxygen is going to make the situation dizzy enough to be worthwhile. I’m hoping those of you that did think it would be are in the same condition.
Of course I’m thinking… Will they like it? Will they hate it?, Will they love it? Or will they be over the Moon about it? Any good response is a welcome response so that’s the best I can hope for.
Now possibly some of you already know which track it is. You’d be one of the fanatical fans if you did, recently the shop was updated to include the MP3 that’s now available for purchase :

But if you go there first you’re not going to hear it. So better to read what follows because I have a little information to provide which gives some background insight into the track. Yes I know music fan’s just want to hear a good track but some like to know a little more. Press agents usually do that but mainstream media still isn’t on side due to the “no record label” situation and currently its easier to let people know here at the Blog.
I really go on about it because it’s just so hard to believe we haven’t been signed. We know record labels have their process but I gather it’s the age of “Why not lose money?, everyone else is”. Now is not the time to gripe and moan about it because who want’s to when there’s some major noise just one click away.
We’re about to take out the award for one of the longest to release EP’s in history, kind of funny that! But this is the news, the second track released from the Restricted Access EP is ALIVE.
I really love this track, it’s hard rocking and all I can say is fan’s are going to have to decide the rest. I could have release a more “Radio Friendly” song but thought it’s probably best to give them a real taste of Lipcrack, that way who ever want’s to leave the party first get’s plenty of warning. We like a crowd that knows what it want’s and want’s it bad.
Sounds like a bit of a story huh? Well it is, it’s all good, clean rocking fun as far as we’re concerned and the track Alive is meant to portray a feeling of being Alive while in a musical environment. I’ve had a range of experiences and the track captures some of the moments in time that remained with me. There will possibly be a few surprises in it, I really play with the character in the track which I won’t expand on other than at this stage to say, “well it’s a Lipcrack track”.
In terms of what went on with computer crashes and updates, I will mention this about the track. I upgraded the program I use for track development on the new computer and ended up doing another mix down. That has produced what I believe is a better “sound” on the track due to the increased compression. Again, Lipcrack experiment a fair bit with sound so if you are expecting a particular sound you probably won’t get it. I know for a fact, I was changing from a good pair of headphones to a cheap pair for comparison and initially decided that I like the sound of this track best coming straight out the computer speakers with no headphones. Now, well I like it both ways but it certainly sounds better with a good pair of headphones.

For those of you waiting for a photo update, Wow! I have been so busy, but as far as things go, glad I took the time out to get a 2016 set for the fans, fanatics and my friends. I have one of the worst sleeping routines you will possibly ever hear about and often work around the clock. This set was taken during a late night session from somewhere between 10pm and 5am in the morning. It was the only time I had available and I don’t plan to do another one like that. I don’t care if it’s running two months late, it’s just mind bending doing it at those hours.
The T-shirt what I can say, a few people know I have a bit of a T-shirt fetish, which for my age I probably should have outgrown but never seem to. There’s something that just makes you feel Alive in a good T-shirt so it goes well with the track release. It’s quite comical obviously and when I bought it thought, “gee that’s a great Steel City Skater top” it just reminded me of the scripts that were develop …”oh so long ago”.
