December is flying through as the end of the year usually does and no sooner we will be in 2022, hard to believe given all the events of 2021 and how it’s laid out a mass of unwelcome lock downs but who wants to go on about the Corona Virus. I’m not sure how everyone’s 2022 is shaping up but I am looking forward to what always seems like, should be a good year. I do know for a more than likely certainty the new Lipcrack EP will be completed and that is a relief. I don’t want to compare making one of these things to building a small home extension but generally they do require as much work and getting one to actually bring in a pay bonus isn’t as simple as it seems.
Have I gone on about all the different aspects of the recording industry? Productions, contracts, copy-write issues, equipment insurance, you name it there’s a barrage of some never ending list of things that can and often do go wrong in terms of developing music tracks, including ending up in hospital for some really odd reasons. Believe it or not and to major surprise of myself, I ended up with about 80% hearing loss this month and a visit to hospital and the doctors. It turned out to be for a ear wax plug build up in “hopefully” one ear only. Obviously it was a major surprise, with no real precursor and caused a fair bit of worry. I’m actually still puzzling over it to some extent but after a little research it can actually happen to anyone, not specifically recording artists, which is good news.
Obviously things are fairly busy here in terms of keeping as close to finishing date for the EP as possible but we all know the end of the year has it’s Merry Moments. That shouldn’t create too many problems in terms of Lipcracks schedule, it’s a great point to wish everyone the Happiest of Christmases, the Safest of New Years and the best of tidings to Everyone. With that here’s a small insert from the new track which is still really in the planning stage of coming together as a track. The drum work is more a sample of the way the drums will sound and was provided to give a bit of direction in terms of the overall sound of the track. The video itself a little bit of fun while working through development processes.
Take care over the holiday period and see you all next year.
Lipcrack.
