February’s here and Lipcrack have been promising a new track for awhile now. Who would think it might actually arrive on time? I tend to prefer to keep to schedule but given some of the web related circumstances it’s surprising it has.
For now let’s get those players and ear plugs ready for Going Stupid.

I consider it punk rock mainly due to how the lyrics were sung, very flat. The music itself is all over the place which is fairly typical of Lipcrack tracks and there’s some really nice moments in there for the trained listener. The song itself is a bit of a parody of events that can occur with a typical music gig moment, lots of fun and lots of noise.
It’s not listed in the main website music player just yet and I’m not sure if it will be. Basically when I went to update the track via the site stereo player it’s not appearing and I ended up having to do a roll back to get all the code that is functioning back up and running. Is it something simple ? it’s difficult to say a number of attempts were made and usually that’s not required so it seems like there’s something else going on. It’s not a huge drama it’s just something that’s upset what was reliable and operated as a pretty good routine for keeping things running smoothly. What is has done is basically force me to use the Blog as a backup for releases until a better solution is found or the problem is resolved and as soon as it is the track will also be available in the main page music player, there’s still one more track to release from this EP so hopefully it will all be resolved by then.
It doesn’t appear to be an outdated technology which is why I’m hesitant to change everything and given there is the backup player it just seems to be the simplest option to run with at present. I maintain that while I keep getting invitations to updated web page development for the site (freelancers) it just isn’t practical in terms of cost effectiveness and the site has always been, a site to access tracks for listening and news updates along with shop purchases. There are currently two shops on the site which is kind of messy but again the site has always been a test site for Lipcrack products and as far as things go it’s way too easy to over invest and loose as much money as under investing and not making any. The other matter is when using the Blog technology you invite a whole range of new technical problems that eat up your own productive time. Fact is I’m convinced while it has been possible and is possible to have an error free site, the longer you stay online and the more you develop the less likely that is to occur. Basically I don’t need any more problems from something that could become a big problem if you let it.
And what about the rest of the month. Lets just say this, January was a fairly big new promotions month that went well. Then things went astray and very little time has been spent on the task so far this February. Fact is, with the release of the new track it’s back to square one as we introduce all our old listeners to the new release. So it is going to be busy from now on.
I’m briefly going to mention my health which given how I have been feeling, I don’t want too, but it has slightly recovered other than for these out of nowhere periods of exhaustion that I seem to go through. I’m hoping for a full recovery but personally I don’t think what is actually wrong with me has been uncovered. There’s just general talk and there’s just general gear that might show up in a blood test one minute not to be there in the next one. Personally I seem to have some kind of sleeping disorder that see’s me crashing out when I need to be awake. I’m not going to go on about it anymore, if there’s some change or something found I’ll mention it again other than that for me it’s an off limit’s topic because it’s something that’s annoying me. A range of people including myself also seem to think being stuck in the room working on the computer all the time is also part of the problem.

There are plans to get moving on a new photo shoot soon enough but there’s no guarantees on that, it’s very much wait and see.
